FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Parents & Guardians –
After speaking with SC DHEC officials, out of an abundance of caution, we have decided to switch to a temporary virtual learning platform from Friday, September 3, 2021, through Friday, September 10, 2021.
While our percentage positive is still low, our percentage of quarantined for close contact has risen significantly.
- Number of Positive Students: 7 (3% of student body)
- Number of Students Quarantined for Close Contact: 37 (20% of student body)
- Number of Positive Staff: 1 (3% of staff)
- Number of Staff Quarantined for Close Contact: 11 (38% of staff)
In an effort to prevent a spread of the COVID-19 virus, we will quarantine our entire student body and staff for 10 days. During that quarantine, the entire building will be professionally cleaned and sanitized.
Administration will also meet to modify our daily schedule to minimize movement in the building. (ie. Lunch in the classroom, etc.)
We will communicate those changes with you prior to restarting face-to-face instruction on Monday, September 13, 2021.
Students must complete the virtual learning packet to be counted as present for these days. If the packet is not completed and turned in by Wednesday, September 15, 2021, students will be marked with unexcused absences. State laws will be followed for students with unexcused absences. The full Attendance and Truancy Policy is posted on our website under the ABOUT page.
Virtual learning packets will be distributed today during dismissal, will be emailed to parents, and will be posted on the Bloomz app. Students who are currently on virtual learning and do not have access to a printer may pick up their packets on Friday, September 3, 2021 either 9:00-11:00am or 3:00-5:00pm.
If your child tests positive or develops symptoms of COVID-19, if someone in your home tests positive for COVID-19, or if your child is in close contact with someone who is positive with COVID-19, please contact Nurse Nikki immediately at 839-529-1840 or nikki.sawyer@choosepace.org.
If your child has been in close contact with someone with COVID-19 at PACE, we have already contacted you. We will continue to monitor the situation and contact you as it changes.
We thank you for your understanding and cooperation during these uncertain times.
Stay well, WOLFPACK!
