Are you recruiting teachers who have experience working with students with reading disabilities and are all your teachers going to be certified in Orton-Gillingham?

While we would love to hire teachers who already have experience working with students who have dyslexia, it is extremely rare to find a South Carolina Certified teacher with dyslexia experience. Because of this, every teacher and staff member at PACE is trained in the Project Read curriculum and the Orton-Gillingham method.

As a public charter school, we are allowed to have up to 25% of our teaching staff without a South Carolina teaching license. However, our preference is for SC certified teachers and/or people experienced with Orton-Gillingham. We understand that several highly qualified OG teachers do not have a SC teaching certification and still should feel encouraged to apply.

For the 2023/2024 school year, 83% of the PACE Academy teaching staff current hold a valid SC Teaching Certificate. All classroom teachers currently hold a degree in their subject area.
