Description: Special Education (SpEd) teachers are responsible for coordinating and implementing activities that assist students with learning disabilities. SpEd teachers develop lesson plans and instructional materials and provide individualized and small group instruction to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each student. SpEd teachers will establish and maintain standards of student behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in the classroom and will work with the PACE administrative team to ensure all student needs are met. This is a 195-day position.

About the role: The person in this role will have a bachelor’s degree in Special Education and will be certified to teach in SC. This person will have experience working with students with reading struggles. Training in Orton-Gillingham instruction considered an added benefit, but not required. For more information, click here.
