After graduating in 2001 from the University of Maine at Farmington with a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, Mrs. Porter began her teaching career in California where she taught 4th grade. In 2006 she returned to her home state of Maine where she earned her Master’s degree from the University of Southern Maine in Literacy Education with a specialization in English as a Second Language. For over two decades she has taught all grade levels from kindergarten through 12th grade to native and non-native English speakers. During the summer of 2021, Mrs. Porter relocated to South Carolina specifically to teach at PACE Academy! Her passion is traveling the world with her husband and two children. Her travels have sent her as far away as China, but her most favorite destinations so far have been Italy and Costa Rica. She loves learning about different cultures, organic gardening and adventuring with her family. When she is not doing any of those things, you’ll find her basking in the sun enjoying a tasty pastry and a cup of coffee.
