Erin’s Law and Gavin’s Law are legislative measures designed to protect children and ensure their safety through educational and procedural reforms in schools. Erin’s Law focuses on preventing child sexual abuse by requiring schools to implement age-appropriate sexual abuse prevention education for students, training educators and staff on recognizing and responding to signs of abuse, and providing parents with information and resources. This law applies to public schools and often extends to private schools, with requirements varying by state. Gavin’s Law addresses bullying and harassment, particularly concerning student mental health and safety, by mandating that schools establish comprehensive anti-bullying policies, implement prevention programs, support victims, and follow mandatory reporting and investigation procedures for bullying incidents. Both laws emphasize the importance of proactive education and robust support systems to ensure the well-being and safety of students.

PACE Academy has partnered with the Monique Burr Foundation to bring age-appropriate materials to our students. For more information about their programs, check out their website.
